Indian Students can be granted short professional and research visits to the UK

For Indian students in the United Kingdom, there is a wonderful offer from CWIT (Charles Wallace India Trust) Scholarships for short professional and research visit grants. These grants are given in the field of literature, history, archaeology, philosophy, history of art, creative and performing arts.

Indian StudentsAnnually, there are 10-15 grants of up to £1000 for short professional or research visits to the United Kingdom by professionals working in the humanities, heritage conservation and arts, and academic research scholars. Usually, these grants are adequate for up to 3 weeks. 31st December, 2013 is the last deadline to submit applications for these grants.

Applicants for the grants should be aged between 25-45 years and Indian citizens living in India. Their purpose of staying in the UK needs to be stated clearly, and a thorough understanding of English language is also required.

The candidates should have completed their studies and must be in the final stages of their doctorate or have at least 4 or more years of experience or research in their specialization. Also, (s)he should not have received a CWIT grant within the previous five years.

Applicants who wish to stay longer or to travel in the United Kingdom need to supplement this grant from other sources, for example, a grant from the ICHR (Indian Council for Historical Research).

The grants do not cover international fares and are payable on arrival in the United Kingdom.
